In honour of inevitable announcement of Resident Evil 6, and (I’m still hoping at least) a reunification of two of Resident Evil’s most beloved Raccoon City survivors, Leon S Kennedy & Claire Redfield, I have paid homage to one of the most influential games ever conceived, Resident Evil 2, with my very own eloquently structured poem, that I believe adds an enormous sense of grandeur and culture often affiliated with the Resident Evil franchise (not really, but just go with it).The year was 1998, and the stability of Raccoon City was looking great. But in secret laboratories far underground, there was an evil terror to be found. Rumours of the walking dead were not fake, a virus from which the inhabitants could not escape. The once prosperous City now engulfed in destruction, cannibalistic tendencies were these creatures seduction. But two unknown heroes were on their way, unbeknownst to the tragedies of this day. Claire Redfield, in search of her brother felt much remorse, aided by Leon S Kennedy, on his first day on the force. Separated by destiny, an explosive lorry, leaving both frightened saviors feeling sorry. Outnumbered by zombies, survivors were few, as they hastened to reach the police HQ. Inside the foreboding station danger was thicker, from more meat eating-zombies, to the hideous Licker. With an elasticated tongue as sharp as a scythe, and meeting an infected cop who looked like Will Smith. Moans from unknown assailant’s were constantly eerie, while the nerve shredding attacks made you increasingly weary. Searching resolutely for ammo for yourself, and finding green herbs to replenish your health. The formidable Tyrant is tirelessly stalking you, running in the opposite direction was all that you could do. Flanked by crows, dog’s and the undead too, “why do I suddenly have the compulsion to use the loo?” Leon and Claire had descended deeper now, determined to succeed, not yield or bow. Trapped in an ordeal they could not wake, why don’t you cop off with each other, for goodness sake? The labs are teething with abominations and fantastical creatures, but we are coming to the end of this horror feature. Here comes William Birkin, attempt to stay calm, with he’s giant eye perched upon his mutated arm. On the train we battled hard and fast, consigning Umbrellas laboratory to the past. After great strife and agony, Leon and Claire were finally free, but the torture of this nightmare, they we never truly flee. For the evil corporation Umbrella had succeeded in its fiendish ideas, by spreading its malevolence, its chaos and fears.
Resident Evil 6 will be released on the 20th of November, check the link to watch the trailer and let me know your thoughts.
