Hello. First off, yes I am still playing Pokemon Go despite its reported decline in popularity. Also after much deliberation I decided to join Team Instinct. Go ahead mock. Dispense you’re scathing jape at my love for consuming glue, I don’t care. Your ignorant jibes only motivate us to humiliate you through clandestine infiltration, by joining forces to defeat all those that attempt to poison and corrupt our brothers. And you will know my name is the lord when I strike my vengeance upon thee! It’s a little radical I’ll concede but you get the point. Up until around level 11 or 12 I had spent the majority of time vacillating between the differing factions, trying to determine which philosophy best reflected my own ideologies as a Pokemon trainer. In the end my decision to join Team Instinct was based purely on how cool Zapdos looked. That’s it. Finally it was time to branch out in search of Gyms to occupy and demonstrate my innate skills a formidable Pokemon trainer. It soon became clear however that preserving the integrity of our team would require a great deal of collaborative solidarity to enhance our flagrant deficiencies as a forceful unit that other teams would envy, largely because there are seemingly a mere smattering of participants colonised by Team Instinct and the sheer numbers recruited by the evil, Team Rocket like division of Team Mystic has prevented any expedient development of our maligned clan.
“Honestly our leaders noble intuition is staggering!”
The concentrated retention of these gyms by Team Mystic makes it impossible for me to retain any dominant visibility in my local area. The lethal custodians are just too powerful, and we are too few. It’s akin to looking for an Arsenal fan in Manchester. Pure locality has extended their formidable tenure beyond the realms of infiltration and as such isolated the few remaining players that actually log in on a regular basis to aid in combating a group fortified by colonised prejudice. So while these players are benefiting from extended residency I’m routinely thwarted by the regimented consistency of Team Mystic and their dominant frivolity. There are pockets of resistance, all too brief glimmers of municipal consolidation, but team Mystic are so numerable that their rooted dominance is difficult to breakdown. My own domestic responsibilities prohibit extended periods of launching any immediate retaliation that doesn’t seem like prevention’s reciprocated by our opponents. Most of which have ascended to absurd levels in a similar amount of time as me. It’s frustrating! Only made worse by the sheer number of Magikarp’s that spawn in the area, severely limiting the variety of Pokemon I’d need to challenge even the most moderately defended territories. At the moment all I can do is harvest their carcasses so I can deplete them of all its sweet, sweet candy. Meaning now that Gyrados, the strongest member of my contingent by some considerable margin is the one Pokemon I’m totally reliant on to defeat the Laprase’s and Snorlax’s that guard these fortified towers of doom!
I’m sure there are similar instances occurring in other regions, whether it’s Mystic, Valour or Instinct. I mean the town 4 miles away is completely ensnared by Instinct collaborators. Perhaps it’s something we as competitors will just have to deal with, or perhaps I need to relocate 4 miles down the road? In either case this level of rooted networking established by highly motivated individuals is a commendable accomplishment. To utilise their numbers to such an effective capacity, containing potential threats with such hostile versatility is what defines players in the latter stages. It’s not fun for me or my absent compatriots, but it is certainly deserving of notoriety. But don’t think I have given up. Oh no! This territorial battle is far from settled. We maybe marginalised, scattered amongst the debris of absconded players and derelict accounts, but we are ready to claim what is rightfully ours. You may take our lives (Pokemon) but you will never take our freedom! Today is our Independence day! You had me at hello!
