No one is as excited about Uncharted 3 as I am, (yes, that includes you), so any opportunity that presents itself for me to publish more information on the exploits of treasure hunter extraordinaire Nathan Drake, will be eagerly divulged almost immediately. So we’ve all seen Nate clambering to escape from the burning Chateau, and the new menacing Helen Mirren esq villainess, Kathrine Marlowe, and not forgetting the beautifully detailed desert location that Drakes Deception will be largely based around. But new details have emerged surrounding the improved multiplayer which could rival even the cinematic glory of the main game.
What Naughty dog are trying to achieve with the multiplayer is to recreate the spectacle you experience with the main narrative, with the huge dynamic locations, vast quantities of explosions , and a never-ending barrage of enemy’s. The weapons that you use will be fully customisable, with a 5V5 and 3 team death match, and your also granted the ability to upload your own gameplay to your Facebook account. Multiplayer can also be played in split screen, with the added bonus that you and a friend can sign into your PSN account, just so you’re not excluded from levelling up, and all this in glorious 3D. Naughty dog could have just as readily repackaged Uncharted 2 with a few added trinkets, and it would almost certainly of become GOTY, so it’s very refreshing to see a developer not resting on their laurels. Now, I try to steer clear of clichés in the same way I avoid Cauliflower, but stating that Uncharted 3 is truly “the gift that keeps on giving”, seems somehow appropriate.
Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception will be released on 11th of November.
