This is my first (and I mean ever) blog, so im still a little unsure of how to begin, but im not going to sit here and bore you with my life story and how much of a Playstation fanatic I am, I’m just going to get down to business.
This being my first post, I felt it was appropriate to inform you of the type of content you are likely to read here, you may agree or disagree, but what matters is that you have an opinion. A variety of different views is more than welcome, just as long as you state your thoughts in a fair and constructive manner. Initially, this list was intended to be a top 10, but as the list began to take form, I realised that wasn’t possible, so in no particular order, here are my 13 favorite Playstation games:
1: Resident evil 2 (PS1)
Even now this survival horror classic still gives me nightmares, terrifying and compelling.
2: Red Dead Redemption (PS3)
GTA set in the wild west? Maybe, but with so much more depth and character.
3: Ratchet and Clank 3 (PS2)
Hilarious and totally bonkers, more great carnage from the deadly duo.
4: Heavy Rain (PS3)
One of the most original Playstation games to date, with an utterly captivating story that you control.
5: Devil May Cry (PS2)
Swords, guns, blood and a heavy metal soundtrack, nuff said.
6: Medal Of Honour Frontline (PS2)
A truly epic world War 2 shooter, storming the beaches of Normandy was a terrifying proposition.
7: Pro evolution soccer 3 (PS2)
Pushed the boundary’s of the football simulator with a more realistic approach, scoring goals has never been this satisfying.
8: Spiderman (PS1)
The first and last great Spiderman game.
9: Uncharted 2 Among thieves (PS3)
superb characters, story and action combines for a cinematic masterpiece.
10: Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion (PS3)
With a world as vast and as beautiful as Tamriel, it’s almost impossible not to fall in love, shame about the ugly inhabitants though.
11: Need For Speed Most Wanted (PS2)
It may not be realistic, but when you can have an adrenaline fueled frenzy like this, then who cares.
12: FIFA 11 (PS3)
Not without its faults, but still addictive and engrossing, look and learn PES.
13: Grand Theft Auto Vice city (PS2)
Lacked the overall depth of GTA 4, but significantly more satisfying and fun.
As you can see its a varied list, and there are many games that did not make the top 13, but I could just as readily of written a list of my top RPG’s, racing, FPS’s, action etc, so this list is rather more deceiving, its more about defining the type of gamer that I am. So that’s enough about me and my self-indulgent list. I would very much appreciate any feedback (good/bad) that you may have, and perhaps even submit your own list of 13 games that define you.
